The Geonetcom on-line seminar series is still going strong. On Tuesday January 11 Mr. Daniel Richards of Paul and Company, Atlanta, GA, presented an interesting seminar on GIS/Mapping for Telecom. He demonstrated a Mapguide application used to manage telecommunication towers and antennas. In addition to this, he gave us a tour of The Barrow County Internet Mapping system. Both of these systems were developed by Pond and Company. On Tuesday January 18 GeonetCom hosted a seminar titled "Vehicle Tracking and Fleet Management". The presenter was Mr. Marcelo Jury of Sigba S.A., Buenos Aries, Argentina. The demonstration showed us how they accomplish 24 hour a day vehicle tracking using ORPCOMM satellite, GPS data and Mapguide software.
